Running Out Of Time

I feel like I'm racing against time. I still have so much to do. Mainly find a job. Just got turned down for another one. Everybody tells me I should have no trouble because I did so well in my last job and got nothing but compliments from customers and co-workers. I'm willing to work hard and learn new skills and I always turn up for the interviews on time. I tell them I'm willing to be flexible when it comes to the hours I work. Then I call them back to see what's happening and they either tell me that they're still going through the applicants and will get back to me or else they decided to hire somebody else. I'm hoping I can find work before winter arrives. Or else I might have to start shoveling people's walks for a living.

Elaine~ Thanks for visiting my blog...your post means a lot to me.

Don't give up on the job, Doll~ with the approaching holiday season, you'll soon have people knocking down YOUR door, and with your record, they will keep you on afterwards. I was in management, so I know the "politics"....hang in

Much love~ EA

Don't dispair girl. I went through 7 month layoff in 2001 and know exactly how you feel. I couldn't sleep very well, and it was a blow to my pride.

I had hammered the internet for a while, firing out resumes and going onto Monster.com etc. with no luck. The only thing that really worked was developing a intimate network of family and friends who I kept updated with monthly emails on my job search. It was through a family friend that I heard about my current job, and as it turned out, it was a perfect fit. So, don't despair, keep networking and keep a positive attitude, smile on the phone, people can see you smiling over the phone.

I really hope things change.
